Police Cautions IPOB, MASSOB against disrupting public peace tomorrow with a rally to mark the inauguration of US President-elect, Mr. Donald

The Nigeria Police have cautioned members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) and the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) against disrupting public peace tomorrow with a rally to mark the inauguration of United States (US) President-elect, Mr. Donald Trump.
IPOB had hinted that it will hold a mega rally in Port Harcourt, Rivers State to mark the inauguration of Trump because “he is a friend of Biafra.”
The Commissioner of Police in Abia State, Mr. Leye Oyebade, said in Umuahia on Wednesday that IPOB and MASSOB members should not go against the provisions of the constitution of Nigeria.
He warned the pro-Biafra groups not to undertake any action capable of disrupting the free movement of law-abiding Nigerians, stressing that the police would not fold their arms to watch them breach the law.
Oyebade said: “There can never be a Republic within a Republic; the Police will continue do their best to ensure that peace reigns.”
IPOB had in a press statement signed by its Media and Publicity Officer, Emma Powerful, said that it would stage a peaceful mega rally tomorrow in Port Harcourt in honour of Trump.
The group said that the peaceful rally would feature prayers for the immediate release of the detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kalu.
“We are calling on all IPOB family members and Biafrans from all over West Africa, Nigeria and Biafraland to descend on Igweocha for the long awaited peaceful IPOB-Trump Solidarity Rally on Friday, 20th January, 2017. The Venue is Igweocha nicknamed Port Harcourt, River State”, the statement added.
